I had many problems as a child. My home life was bad and I got to the point where I didn’t care if I lived or died. My parents didn’t care for me and that hurt me enough that I did everything I could to hurt them. I did not feel like I was part of my family.
As time went by, life got better. I had a few people – who really cared for me – help me through some of my problems. I began to see that life could be better if people would share love for one another.
My life really changed when I married Mary. She lead me to Jesus and helped me to feel better about myself. She encouraged me to get a good job and make something of myself. And it worked. On Easter Sunday of 1974, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and Mary reaffirmed her commitment to Jesus.
Life soon began to be worth living. Mary encouraged me to write “It’s Your Decision – Parenting the Way God Intended”, and perhaps others in the future, to try to encourage those who were having difficulties in their lives. If it wasn’t for God and Mary, I would not be here today. We raised a daughter and a son who are doing a great job of taking care of their families the way they were taken care of at home with us.
